55mm flat steel burrs from Eureka, Italy. The standard in their Mignon home grinder series. Consistent espresso with a classic Italian café profile that fits a daily routine.

The axes show the direction the burr leans toward. Higher values mean that quality stands out more than average; lower values mean it comes through lighter.
OEM 55mm steel burrs for the Eureka Mignon line. The titanium variant runs notably longer (claimed 2-3× the lifespan of the steel set). Both are direct drop-in replacements.
Eureka is a long-running Italian grinder maker (since 1920) that established itself in the past decade in the home-grinder world with the Mignon series. The Specialita is the most popular model — a quiet, stable espresso grinder at an accessible price point.
The burrs
55mm diameter — relatively small for the specialty home-grinder world (where 64mm has become the entry minimum). That's no accident: 55mm is the European "light commercial" diameter from the past 30 years. It saves cost, keeps the grinder compact, and still delivers throughput suited to a home or small bar setup.
The teeth and steel have been refined over the years. The current version is hardened, delivering relatively uniform cuts at this price point.
The cup
The Specialita was built for espresso and that's what it does best. The cup comes out balanced and traditional — full body, decent crema, chocolate sweetness, moderate acidity. With medium and darker roasts, the profile flowing from it matches "Italian café espresso."
With very light roasts, the Specialita is less of a fit. The wider distribution doesn't surface the nuance that competition-grade specialty beans present. For filter, it produces a reasonable cup but not what a specialty user would choose as a primary filter setup.
When to upgrade
Many Specialita owners eventually upgrade to SSP MP 64mm (if the grinder supports it — some models do) or move to a different grinder entirely when transitioning to light specialty beans. The stock Specialita does excellent work in a daily espresso routine with commercial beans or blends.
The titanium variant
Eureka offers a titanium-coated burr variant at slightly higher cost. The main advantage: significantly higher durability. Flavor is similar to the standard set, though some users report a lighter edge in the cup with light roasts.
